MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West announced today that Huntingdon will join the NCAA-Division III USA South Athletic Conference beginning in the fall of 2013. Huntingdon and Covenant College (Ga.) were approved as members at a meeting of the USA South presidents yesterday. Current USA South members are Averett University (Va.), Ferrum College (Va.), Greensboro College (N.C.), Mary Baldwin College (Va.), Meredith College (N.C.), Methodist University (N.C.), N.C. Wesleyan College (N.C.), William Peace University (N.C.), and the conference's newest members, LaGrange College (Ga.), Piedmont College (Ga.), and Maryville College (Tenn.).

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team came up short in Sunday's Great South Athletic Conference tournament championship. The Lady Hawks battled Agnes Scott but the Scotties took the title with a 5-2 win. The title is the fourth straight for Agnes Scott. This was the sixth straight season Huntingdon has reached the finals.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team eliminated Piedmont in the semifinals of the Great South Athletic Conference tournament on Saturday. The win sets up a familiar championship match at the University of Tennessee on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The Lady Hawks, who are in the finals for the sixth straight season, take on three-time defending GSAC tournament champion Agnes Scott.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's and women's tennis teams each have the same goal this weekend. As the Great South Athletic Conference tennis tournament gets started in Knoxville, Tenn., the Hawks and the Lady Hawks are both looking for a conference title. The Huntingdon men have reached the finals the past four seasons and won the conference tournament in 2008 and 2009. The Lady Hawks have played in the tournament finals each of the past five seasons, winning the GSAC championship in 2007 and 2008.

DECATUR, Ga. – Huntingdon freshmen tennis players Zac Baldwin and Taylor Clark were each named conference Freshman of the Year by the Great South Athletic Conference. With the release of the GSAC All-Conference awards, both the Huntingdon men's and women's tennis teams are well represented. A total of 10 Huntingdon tennis players were recognized with awards.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon senior Christian Vick recently had to make a tough decision. Having applied to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at several schools, Vick was accepted at four schools – UAB, Mercer University, the University of South Alabama and Alabama State University. Vick chose UAB as the school where she will pursue her doctorate in physical therapy, specializing in acute care.

DECATUR, Ga.- With only three weeks left in the season, the Great South Athletic Conference is pleased to announce this week's men's and women's singles and doubles tennis award winners. Taylor Clark from Huntingdon and Katie Sailors and Morgan Reed of Piedmont are the women's singles and doubles winners while John Hirte of Covenant and Christopher Davidson and Nick Hallberg of Piedmont earned the men's honors.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team won two doubles matches and swept all six singles matches for an 8-1 victory over Spelman College on Sunday. The win was the fifth straight for Huntingdon (12-3, 5-1 Great South Athletic Conference).

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Huntingdon women’s tennis team wrapped up its visit to Orlando on Tuesday with its third win in three days. The Lady Hawks knocked off Hollins University 5-4 in the final match of the trip. Hollins is ranked 14th in the ITA Atlantic South Region.
