Huntingdon women’s tennis loses to Agnes Scott in GSAC finals

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team came up short in Sunday's Great South Athletic Conference tournament championship. The Lady Hawks battled Agnes Scott but the Scotties took the title with a 5-2 win.

The title is the fourth straight for Agnes Scott. This was the sixth straight season Huntingdon has reached the finals.

Huntingdon freshman Taylor Clark, the GSAC Freshman of the Year, pulled off a big win at No. 1 singles against three-time GSAC Player of the Year Rachel Storz. Storz, who has been unbeaten in the conference the past three seasons, lost to Clark 6-4, 6-4.

Agnes Scott took a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches. Clark's win and Arielle Barraca's win at No. 5 singles kept the Lady Hawks in contention. But Agnes Scott closed out the match with wins at No. 6 singles and No. 4 singles.
