Women’s tennis battles on Day 2 of John McWilliams Fall Invitational

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After winning every match in the opening round of the John McWilliams Fall Invitational on Friday, the Huntingdon women's tennis team picked up one win in the second round on Saturday.

Hannah Still (No. 1 singles) was the only Lady Hawk to win in the second round of singles play on Saturday, defeating Mary-Evelyn Carroll of Birmingham Southern 6-3, 7-5. In the third round of singles, Still fell to Carli Petro from Birmingham Southern.

The Lady Hawks, who led the team standings entering the second day, fell to third with 24 points. Birmingham Southern took the lead with 34 points and Millsaps sits in second with 30 points. LaGrange College is fourth with eight points and Point University is fifth with zero points.

The tournament continues on Sunday at 9 a.m. at Lagoon Park.
