Women’s tennis finishes 3rd in John McWilliams Fall Invitational

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Huntingdon women's tennis team closed the John McWilliams Fall Invitational with a third-place finish on Sunday.
Two Lady Hawks competed in singles play on Sunday. Hannah Still (No. 1) lost to Ashley Ford from Millsaps College 6-2, 6-4 and Sarah Warren (No. 2) lost to Anna Brache of Millsaps College 8-6.
The doubles team of Caroline McBroom-Warren (No. 2) defeated the duo of Knight-White of Point University 8-1 in the third round. They were unable to finish the next round due to weather conditions.
The team of Still-White (No. 1) were unable to finish play due to weather, while the team of Tara-Beth Hall-Sandy Mayson (No. 3) lost to the Birmingham-Southern team of Carroll-Hammond 8-1.
Birmingham-Southern finished first in the team standing with 48 points. Millsaps was second with 44 points, Huntingdon finished third with 26 points, LaGrange College was fourth with 12 points and Point University was fifth with zero points.
Freshman Caroline McBroom was named the tournament's sportsmanship award winner.
