Lady Hawks earn 10th win of the season

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team picked up its 10th win of the season with a 6-3 victory over LaGrange College on Tuesday.

With two USA South matches remaining against North Carolina Wesleyan and Methodist, Huntingdon (10-1, 9-1 USA South) is second in the conference standings. N.C. Wesleyan (9-2, 9-0 USA South) leads the conference standings and Methodist (12-5, 8-1 USA South) is third.

The Lady Hawks won two doubles matches and four singles matches in the five-hour match with LaGrange (7-4, 5-4 USA South). Sarah Warren (No. 2), Sandy Mayson (No. 3), Tara-Beth Hall (No. 5) and Caroline McBroom (No. 6) earned singles victories for Huntingdon.

In doubles, the team of Hannah Still-Warren won its sixth straight match at No. 1 and the team of Mayson-McBroom improved to 3-1 at No. 2.

Huntingdon travels to Albany State on Wednesday for a 1 p.m. match.
