Lady Hawks pick up fifth conference win

DANVILLE, Va. – The Huntingdon women's tennis team won its ninth match of the season on Friday, defeating Averett 6-3.
The Lady Hawks currently rank fourth in the USA South Athletic Conference with a 5-2 conference record and a 9-2 overall record.
The teams of Zoya Robinson-Caroline McBroom (No. 2) and Josie Waddell-Octavia Pendleton (No. 3) each earned 8-0 wins in doubles play.
In singles, Waddell (No. 3), Heather Tabor (No. 4), McBroom (No. 5) and Pendleton (No. 6) won in straight sets. Tabor and McBroom each won 6-0 6-0.
The Lady Hawks play at Greensboro on Saturday at 10 a.m.
