Huntingdon volleyball sweeps GSAC tri-match

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Huntingdon volleyball team picked up two Great South Athletic Conference victories on Saturday.

Behind Abby Carter's 17 kills and Alyssa Eason's 43 assists, the Hawks knocked off Wesleyan 25-8, 25-5, 25-10 and Salem 17-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-23. Carter had a team-high nine kills against Wesleyan and eight kills against Salem. She also had two solo blocks and a block assist and two aces against Wesleyan. Eason had 24 assists and three aces against Wesleyan and 19 assists, eight kills, 12 digs, two solo blocks and one block assist against Salem.

In the Wesleyan match, Lauren Rozof recorded seven kills and Abby Brown added five kills. Ashlee Walters led the Hawks in digs with 13 and Melony Motley finished with three aces, one solo block and one block assist.

Against Salem, Allyson Brislinger totaled seven kills and Brown had six kills. Brown also had three aces, four solo blocks and one block assist. Walters picked up 12 digs and Victoria Hurd had nine digs. Bianca Hulsey added 10 assists and Samantha Morris finished with three aces.

Huntingdon (9-20, 3-5 GSAC) travels to OIglethorpe on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. match.
