Volleyball splits on Day 2 of Huntingdon College Jubilee

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team picked up a three-set win in its first match on Saturday before falling in three sets in the final match of the Huntingdon College Volleyball Jubilee.

The Lady Hawks (2-1) knocked off Wesleyan (0-3) 25-10, 25-10, 25-14 and lost to Oglethorpe (3-0) 24-26, 19-25, 21-25.

Kalen Morgan, Rachel Dunlay and Morgan Goodson combined for 43 of Huntingdon's 64 kills in the two matches and Lexi Rangel and Cora Murchison combined for 49 of the Lady Hawks' 61 assists.

Morgan had 18 kills on the day, including a match-high 10 against Wesleyan. Dunlay totaled 15 kills, including a team-high nine against Oglethorpe and Goodson had 10 kills for the day.

Rangel finished the day with 28 assists and 15 digs. She had six aces against Wesleyan and a team-high 14 assists in each match. Murchison added 21 assists in the two matches.

Bria Rochelle added nine kills in the two matches and six aces against Wesleyan. Lauren Condon recorded 21 digs on the day, including a team-high 11 digs against Wesleyan.

Bobie Wilson followed with 16 digs in the two matches. Storm McWhorter had a team-high 11 digs against Oglethorpe and finished with 12 digs for the day.

Huntingdon returns to action in the Millsaps Tournament on Sept. 5-6.
