Huntingdon volleyball splits on Day 2 of Sewanee Tournament

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon volleyball team closed out the Sewanee Tournament on Saturday with a 3-2 loss to LaGrange and a 3-0 win over Wesleyan.

The Hawks (3-5) fell to LaGrange 25-15, 21-25, 15-25, 25-21, 12-15 and downed Wesleyan 25-8, 25-5, 25-8.

Four players recorded double-digit kills against LaGrange (6-3) as Bria Rochelle, Kalen Morgan, Audrianna Hargitt and Rachel Dunlay combined for 51 kills. Rochelle had a team-high 15 kills to go with 19 digs. Morgan had 12 kill, 10 digs and three blocks, Dunlay recorded 12 kills, nine assists, nine digs and five aces and Hargitt had 12 kills.

Ashton Flores finished with eight kills and Cora Murchison totaled 45 assists and 10 digs. Lauren Condon had a team-high 21 digs and Bobie Wilson finished with 13 digs.

Against Wesleyan, Ashley Childs recorded a team-high six kills, Jessica Serecky had five kills and Kaitlyn Carter had a team-high seven assists. Abby Rohde had seven of the Hawks' 25 aces, followed by Dunlay with six aces and Lexi Rangel with five aces. Nicole Payne finished with six digs.

Huntingdon travels to Pensacola Christian on Thursday to play Southern University at 5 p.m. and Pensacola Christian at 7 p.m.
