Huntingdon goes to five games with LaGrange and Piedmont

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon volleyball team went to five games in a pair of USA South Athletic Conference matches on Saturday.

The Hawks fell to LaGrange 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 23-25, 6-15 and came up short against Piedmont 25-14, 25-22, 16-25, 20-25, 6-15.

Bria Rochelle and Audrianna Hargitt combined for 51 kills in the two matches and Cora Murchison had 83 assists for the Hawks (5-11, 0-4 USA South).

Against LaGrange (8-7, 1-3 USA South), Hargitt led Huntingdon with 13 kills and six digs and Rochelle added 11 kills and seven digs. Kalen Morgan and Ashley Childs each had seven kills. Morgan also had six blocks.

Murchison totaled 41 assists, Lauren Condon finished with 17 digs, Lexi Rangel had 10 digs and Bobie Wilson had eight digs.

In the match with Piedmont (8-7, 4-1 USA South), Rochelle recorded 15 kills and 10 digs and Hargitt had 12 kills and eight digs. Morgan added nine kills and Childs had seven kills. Murchison finished with 42 assists, Condon had 11 digs and Wilson had seven digs.

Huntingdon returns to action on Wednesday at Wesleyan.
