Hawks fall to Belhaven but bounce back against Centenary

JACKSON, Miss. – Bria Rochelle and Audrianna Hargitt combined for 30 of Huntingdon's 61 kills and on the opening day of the Belhaven Classic volleyball tournament.
The Hawks fell to Belhaven 25-11, 25-12, 25-18 in the first match and defeated Centenary 25-22, 26-24, 25-15 in the second match.
Rochelle finished the day with 15 kills, 23 digs and seven block assists and Hargitt added 15 kills and five block assists. Kaitlyn Carter recorded 47 of the Hawks' 60 assists and Bobie Wilson totaled 15 digs.
Against Belhaven (3-3), Hargitt led Huntingdon (3-3) with five kills, Carter recorded 11 assists and Rochelle had 11 digs.
In the win over Centenary (1-6), Rochelle recorded 12 kills, 12 digs and five block assists and Hargitt followed with 10 kills, seven digs and four block assists. Kalen Morgan and Alexis Creasman each added six kills. Carter totaled 36 assists and Wilson had 12 digs.
Huntingdon returns to action in the Belhaven Classic on Saturday.
