Hawks down Piedmont, fall to Covenant

DEMOREST, Ga. – The Huntingdon volleyball team earned a split in a tri-match at Piedmont College on Saturday.

The Hawks fell to Covenant 25-17, 20-25, 25-17, 25-17 and beat Piedmont 25-20, 25-22, 25-21.

Audrianna Hargitt led Huntingdon (10-20) with 34 kills and 29 digs in the two matches. Bria Rochelle had 18 kills and 24 digs, Kalen Morgan added 16 kills and Devyn Stringer finished with 65 assists.

In the win over Piedmont (16-11), Hargitt turned in a match-high 19 kills to go with 14 digs. Morgan added nine kills and Rochelle had eight kills and 14 digs. Stringer recorded 35 assists and six digs and Shelby Young had seven digs.

In the loss to Covenant (16-12) totaled 15 kills and 15 digs and Rochelle added 10 kills and 10 digs. Alexis Creasman followed with eight kills and Morgan finished with seven kills. Stringer recorded 30 assists and Young had 11 digs.

Huntingdon travels to LaGrange on Tuesday for a 6 p.m. match.
