JENKINS WINS INDIVIDUAL TITLE AS HUNTINGDON MEN AND WOMEN PLACE SECOND

MOBILE, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's and women's cross country teams each finished second in the Spring Hill Challenge of Champions Badger Brawl on Saturday.

Senior Jeff Jenkins won the men's race and senior Caitlin McMahon placed second in the women's race.

"Going in, I though Jeff and Caitlin both had a good shot to win the individual titles," head coach Nate Rucker said. "I knew Spring Hill would be tough but I thought we had a good shot of winning the team titles as well. We gave it our best and so did they. They came out ahead today."

Spring Hill swept the meet. The Spring Hill men finished with 26 points to Huntingdon's 50 and the women totaled 38 points to Huntingdon's 43.

"We looked a lot better this weekend than we did last weekend," Rucker said. "We're coming together and we're going to keep hitting it pretty hard the next few weeks before we head to the Rhodes Invitational."

The Hawks return to action on Oct. 1 in the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.
