The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2022 All-Conference awards for women's lacrosse. Southern Virginia's Alissa Johnson was named Offensive Player of the Year while Averett's Faith Bowlin collected Rookie of the Year honors. The Meredith duo of Meredith Sinkler and Lauren Scott were named Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively, to round out the individual accolades. Also, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school. Finally, all awards are voted on by the men's golf coach at each institution.

Johnson, a junior midfielder from Salt Lake City, Utah becomes the first Knight, in the program's inaugural year within the Conference, to be named USA South Offensive Player of the Year. Johnson concluded the regular season ranked third in the League with 69 points on 43 goals and 26 assists. She also complied 76 draw controls, 41 ground balls, and 25 caused turnovers this season. Within Conference-contests, Johnson led the Conference with 59 points on 36 goals and 23 assists, to go along with 56 draw controls, 33 ground balls, and 20 caused turnovers. For her efforts, Johnson earned First Team All-Conference accolades at the midfield position and was named USA South Player of the Week three times this spring.

Sinkler, a junior defender from Greensboro, North Carolina is the second consecutive Avenging Angel to be named USA South Defensive Player of the Year. Sinkler helped anchor a defense which currently is leading the Conference by allowing just 8.07 goals per game. Against USA South competition alone, Meredith posted a League-best 4.20 goals-against-average. Individually, Sinkler has totaled 17 caused turnovers and 16 ground balls. For her efforts this spring, Sinkler earned First Team All-Conference accolades for the second consecutive season at defense and collected USA South Defensive Player of the Week once.

Bowlin, a freshman midfielder from Abingdon, Maryland is the second Cougar (Vanessa Jordan, 2006) to be named League Rookie of the Year. She finished the regular season ranked in the top-ten of several categories within the Conference, including points (61), goals (48), draw controls (60), ground balls (55)l, and caused turnovers (21). She also contributed 13 assists for the Cougars during the year. In USA South-only action this spring, Bowlin led the Conference rookies in points with 38 on 30 goals and eight assists. She also added 43 draw controls, 36 ground balls, and 15 caused turnovers this spring. For her efforts, Bowlin earned Second Team All-Conference honors this season as a midfielder while also being named USA South Rookie of the Week four times.

In her tenth season at Meredith, Scott collects her fourth consecutive USA South Coach of the Year honor. It is the sixth such accolade of Scott's career which is the most by a coach in League women's lacrosse history. This spring, Scott has led the Avenging Angels to a 13-5 overall record and a sixth consecutive unbeaten season in League play. With a 10-0 Conference record, Meredith earned its sixth straight USA South Regular Season crown. The Avenging Angels have now won 53 consecutive regular season Conference games and head into the USA South Tournament as the top-seed with hopes of capturing their eighth straight title.
