Head Coach Ed Wright speaks on how the preseason for the Hawks has been going.
"Practice for our team has been challenging dealing with the extreme heat the last couple of weeks. Coach Cole and I have moved and limited athletes' afternoon runs for their safety.
Our main goal this season is to be well prepared and healthy for the CCS Championship! Cross Country is a long season, and we want to be ready when it counts.
The Jacksonville Invitational this Friday will give us a good idea where we are and how we need to move forward in preparation."
Five of the Hawks seven runners are returners from last year:
Rhiannon Sevier
Amelia Kate Smith
Breanna Smith
Sydney Thompson
Aleah Vess
The Hawks first meet will be in Jacksonville, Alabama this Friday, September 1st.
