MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team lost its home opener 10-6 against eighth-ranked Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday.
The Hawks fell behind 5-0 in the first two innings and trailed 10-0 in the sixth inning before scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth and four runs in the bottom of the ninth.
Adams Bragg had one RBI and scored one run and Andrew Knight had a run and a double. Colin Whibbs and Ryan Meadows each had one RBI. Wes Powell, Jacob Pitts, Dawson Kuba and Cody Hollis each scored one run.
Patrick Sawyer (0-1) took the loss in two innings. Sawyer (2) and relief pitchers Ethan Hess (4), John Crawford (1), Josh Stevens (2), Chris Williams (2) and Andrew Tubbs (2) combined for 13 strikeouts.
