Hawks come up short at Piedmont

DEMOREST, Ga.  – The Huntingdon baseball team lost to Piedmont 4-2 on Friday in the first game of a three-game non-conference series.

The Hawks fell behind 4-0 in the fifth inning before scoring one run in the sixth and one run in the ninth inning.

Wes Powell drove in both runs for the Hawks. Powell drove in Colton Clark with a double in the sixth inning and drove in Jake Elrod on a single in the ninth inning. Powell finished with two hits and was the only Hawk with multiple hits.

Carden Mellown (1-1) took the loss in five innings, striking out six, walking three and allowing five hits and four runs.
