Hawks lose doubleheader at LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga.  – The Huntingdon baseball team lost a pair of conference games in a doubleheader at LaGrange on Sunday.

Huntingdon lost the first game 6-2 and the second game 10-4.

Huntingdon led in both games but could not hold off LaGrange.

In Game 1, Huntingdon led 2-0 in the fifth inning before the Panthers scored four runs in the fifth inning and two runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. In Game 2, the Hawks led 4-1 in the third inning before LaGrange scored four runs in the third inning and three runs in the seventh to pull ahead.

Hall Billings had two hits, one RBI and one run in Game 1 and Colton Clark had two hits and one RBI. Cullen Stafford had one run and Wes Powell had two hits. Carden Mellown (1-4) took the loss in 5 1/3 innings.

In Game 2, Powell drove in two runs, Adams Bragg had one RBI and one run and Colin Whibbs had two hits and one RBI. Ryan Greene had two hits and one run and Nick Swisher and Billings each had one run. John Crawford (1-2) took the loss in relief.
