Jackson, Miss.-Huntingdon Baseball opened their season with a 4-3 win over Centenary on day 1 of the Millsaps Classic.
Hall Billings singled in Noah Phillips in the second inning to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Centenary tied the game in the third inning with a double. In the 6th inning, Andrew Knight doubled to left with the bases loaded, scoring Colin Whibbs, Colton Clark, and Daniel Phillips, to give the Hawks a 4-1 lead. Centenary came within 1 in the 7th inning with a 2 RBI double to right field.
Seth Killam earned the win, going 6.2 innings and allowing 3 runs on 9 hits and 3 strikeouts. Tucker Duke earned the save, pitching 2.1 innings and allowing no runs on 2 hits with 2 walks and 1 strikeout.
The Hawks are back for day 2 of the Millsaps Classic tomorrow when they take on Berry at 6 PM CST.
