Hawks Taken Down by Millsaps

Jackson, Ms.-Huntingdon Baseball fell to Millsaps, 5-4. 

Cade Morgan gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning with a sacrifice fly to right field. Andrew Knight reached first on an error in the 3rd, scoring Cody Hollis

Millsaps scored on a pass ball in the 3rd inning, making it 2-1. Hall Billings had a sacrifice fly to right field giving the Hawks a 3-1 lead in the 4th inning. Millsaps scored 2 on a double in the 5th inning, tying the game at 3. 

Millsaps had an RBI double to left field in the 5th inning and an RBI groundout in the 7th to take a 5-3 lead. Colin Whibbs had a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Colton Clark in the 8th inning but it was not enough for the comeback.

Colton Clark suffered the loss, pitching 4.1 innings and allowed 4 runs on 3 hits. Colin Whibbs was 2-3 with 1 run and 1 RBI.

The Hawks are back in action in their home opener against Mt. St. Joseph on Friday, February 18th in the Firehouse Classic. Game time is set for 3:30 PM CST.
