Hawks Fall Short at Oglethorpe

Atlanta, Ga.-Huntingdon Baseball fell to Oglethorpe, 7-5. The Hawks are now 4-3 to start the season.

Oglethorpe took a 1-0 into the 5th inning before the Hawks offense came to life for a 5-run inning. Innes Mackay's RBI single in the 5th put the Hawks on the board. Daniel Patton's triple down the right field line brought in 3 runs to make it 4-1. Noah Phillips' RBI double to center gave the Hawks a 5-1 lead. 

Oglethorpe added a run in the 6th on a throwing error, making it 5-2. RBI singles for Oglethorpe tied the game at 5 before an RBI triple in the 8th inning gave them a 6-5 lead. Oglethorpe added a run on a sacrifice fly, making it 7-5. The Hawks battled in the 9th with runners at 2nd and 3rd but were unable to capitalize.

Noah Phillips suffers the loss, pitching 1.0 innings and allowing 2 runs on 2 hits.

The Hawks are back in action at home against Emory on Friday, February 25th. First pitch is set for 6:00 PM CST.
