Hawks Shut Down Maryville in Game 2 of Series

Maryville, Tn.-Huntingdon Baseball defeated Maryville, 10-2.

Andrew Knight's RBI single in the 3rd inning gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Colin Whibbs had an RBI double to left field, scoring 2 and making it 3-0. 

Maryville added a run in the 4th inning on a solo homerun. In the 5th inning, Colton Clark reached on a fielder's choice and brought in a run, making it 4-1. Daniel Phillips' RBI double made it 5-1. Noah Phillips had an RBI groundout, giving the Hawks a 6-1 lead.

In the 7th inning, Knight scored on a balk to make it 7-1. Daniel Patton was caught stealing in the 8th but brought in a run, making it 8-1. Maryville added a run in the 8th with an RBI single but the Hawks made it 9-2 in the top of the 9th with a sacrifice fly by Daniel Phillips. Noah Phillips' sacrifice fly secured the 10-2 win for the Hawks.

Andrew Knight was 2-2 with 3 runs, 1 RBI, and 2 walks. Colton Clark was 3-5 with 2 runs and 1 RBI. Eddie Patterson earned the win, pitching 7.0 innings and allowing 2 runs on 6 hits with 6 strikeouts.

The final game of the series against Maryville is tomorrow, April 3rd. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM CST.
