Hawks Outlast LaGrange in Game 2 of Series

Montgomery, Ala.-Huntingdon Baseball defeated LaGrange, 8-7, in game 2 of the series. 

LaGrange took a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI single and added a run in the second with a sacrifice fly. In the bottom of the second, Cullen Stafford's RBI double made it 2-1. Daniel Patton had an RBI single to tie the game at 2. Andrew Knight doubled with the bases loaded to give the Hawks a 5-2 lead. Colin Whibbs' ended the inning with an RBI single, making it 6-2. 

In the third inning, LaGrange had an RBI double to make it 6-3. Colin Whibbs had an RBI single, extending the Hawks' lead to 7-3. LaGrange added a run in the top of the sixth to make it 7-4. 

LaGrange added a run in the 7th inning with a solo homerun but the Hawks answered back with an RBI double by Cullen Stafford to make it 8-5. A solo homerun by LaGrange in the 9th inning made it 8-6 and an RBI single made it 8-7.

Eddie Patterson earned the win, pitching 7.0 innings and allowing 4 runs on 9 hits with 10 strikeouts. Colin Whibbs was 4-5 with 2 RBI. Andrew Knight was 2-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. Noah Phillips was 2-4 with 1 run. Cullen Stafford was 2-4 with 1 run, 2 RBI, and 2 doubles. 

The final game of the series against LaGrange is tomorrow, April 30th. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM CST.
