Hawks Defeat Pfeiffer, End Season with Loss to NC Wesleyan

Rocky Mount, NC.-Huntingdon Baseball defeated Pfeiffer, 13-5, but was taken down by NC Wesleyan, 5-1.

The Hawks defeated Pfieffer, 13-5.

Cullen Stafford gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the 4th inning with a sacrifice fly but Pfieffer scored 5 runs in the 4th inning to take a 5-1 lead. In the 5th inning, Colin Whibbs had an RBI single to make it 5-2. Stafford's RBI single in the 6th inning made it 5-3 and Daniel Patton's RBI single made it 5-4. Andrew Knight gave the Hawks a lead in the 6th inning with a 2-RBI double to make it 6-5. 

In the 7th inning, Stafford reached on an error and brought in the Hawks' 7th run. Cade Morgan had an RBI single to extend the lead followed by a 2-RBI triple by Daniel Patton to make it 10-5. Patton scored on a wild pitch, making it 11-5. In the 8th inning, Daniel Phillips had an RBI single to make it 12-5. Cade Morgan reached on an error and brought in a run to secure the 13-5 win. 

Hall Billings earned the win, pitching a complete game and allowing 5 runs on 8 hits with 5 strikeouts. Colton Clark was 3-4 with 1 run. Daniel Patton was 2-4 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. Noah Phillips was 3-4 with 2 runs. Cullen Stafford was 1-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. 

Vs NC Wesleyan

The Hawks were defeated by NC Wesleyan, 5-1.

Daniel Phillips gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI double but the NC Wesleyan offense added 3 runs in the 4th inning to overtake the Hawks. NC Wesleyan added 2 runs in the 6th inning to take a 5-1 lead.

Parker Szush suffered the loss, pitching 4.0 innings and allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 1 strikeout. Daniel Phillips was 1-4 with 1 RBI. Colin Whibbs was 1-3 with 1 run. The Hawks totaled 4 hits and 4 walks. 

The Hawks end the season 26-15 overall and 12-5 in conference.
