Hawks Get Redemption at Rhodes

Memphis, Tennessee – The Hawks, now 5-2 overall defeated Rhodes 6-5 after falling to them yesterday.

With Colin Whibbs and Noah Phillips on base by walks in the top of the first inning, Cade Morgan doubled to score Whibbs (1-0). Daniel Patton hit a two-run single for Phillips and Morgan to come across the plate and go up by three (3-0).

In the third, Morgan reached on an error and Matthew Robinson grounded out to the shortstop to score Morgan (4-0). The Lynx started their scoring in the bottom of the third and fourth. After two runs, Hall Billings came to the mound for Michael Driver who allowed a two-run single to tie the game at four. In the fifth and sixth innings, the Hawks added two more runs with RBIs from John Hale and Whibbs to go up 6-4.

Tucker Duke relieved Billings in the ninth to close out the game and earn his second save of the season as he allowed only one run and two hits.

The Hawks return to action this weekend, March 4th-5th as they host Hampden-Sydney, Middlebury, and Millsaps. Huntingdon will take on Hampden-Sydney and Middlebury on the 4th at 1:30 and 5:00 PM and Millsaps on the 5th at 2:00 PM CST.
