Hawks Fall to Birmingham Southern

Birmingham, Alabama – The Hawks, now 8-3 fell to number one ranked Birmingham Southern on the road, 19-5.

A quick solo homerun by the Panthers in the bottom of the first inning gave BSC the lead. In the top of the second the Hawks answered when Noah Phillips got on by an error and Cade Morgan hit a sacrifice fly to score him and tie the game at one.

Birmingham Southern scored eight runs in the bottom of the second and third innings to take a 9-1 lead.

After a N. Phillips double and stolen base to third, Morgan hit another sacrifice fly for N. Phillips to score the Hawks second run (9-2). Colin Whibbs followed with a sacrifice fly to score Baron Brack and another hit by N. Phillips to bring in Christian Lasecki gave the Hawks their final run of the fifth inning.

The Panthers were able to tally ten more runs and end the game in seven innings.
