Overwatch B team wins ECAC Rivals National Championship

MONTGOMERY, AL - The #1 ranked Huntingdon Overwatch B team claimed the ECAC Rivals National Championship last night with wins over #12 Wilson College 3-0 (2-0, 1-0, 1-0) in the semifinals, followed by a 4-0 (2-0, 1-0, 2-1, 1-0) victory over #2 Penn St - Behrend in the finals.

The team finished with a perfect season going 12-0 through the regular season and post season.  The team had an all-freshman starting squad and was led by captain Chase Greterman alongside Alex WasdenKeylan DellspergerHayden Smith, Ethan Cannon, and Liam McNamara in a 6 player rotation for the team with subs Sean Squiers and Wyn Hurley.

Director of Esports, Justin Ellis - "This team has demolished even my own expectations for them throughout the season.  All of our esports teams have really high standards, but even as a B-Team, this squad impressed week after week and never even dropped a map in playoffs or went to game five all season.  The fact that our students were able to really focus in on their craft while some of them also worked at times with our Overwatch A-team and other titles, really says a lot about the motivation these students had and how they were able to make a mark as the first national champions in Huntindon Esports history in just our first semester of competition."

Huntingdon esports final match of the fall season will be the Hawks #1 ranked Rocket League A team (8-0) vs #2 Kennesaw State - Blue (8-0) in the NECC Emergents Southeast Championship on Friday at 7pm.
