League Of Legends Qualifies For NECC Emergents South Championship

MONTGOMERY,Ala.- #3 Huntingdon League of Legends (5-1 RS, 2-0 PS) has made it to the NECC Emergents South Championship against #4 John Brown University (3-1 RS, 2-0 PS).

Last semester, the team finished 5-1 in the regular 2nd and was the #3 seed entering playoffs and finished 2nd in their division but fell in the quarterfinals of the playoffs in a 1-2 loss to #6 Central Virginia Community College.

This semester, the team rallied together and came up with the same exact results in the spring regular season but have pushed themselves in the playoffs with a 2-0 win over #6 Middle Tennessee State University and upset 2-1 win over #2 University of Alabama Huntsville, which had beat them last semester.

Esports Assistant Coach, Ryan Doyle who oversees League of Legends and Valorant, had this to say about the team:

"I'm impressed what kind of backbone these guys had shown during their series. Each of them had an opportunity to lay down and quit at any moment when they found themselves 0-1, but they dug deep and played as a cohesive unit to overcome UAH in a reverse sweep.

Making finals was always expected with this group in my mind, but now it's up to them to finish the job. I really hope to see a crowd cheer for them for our upcoming Bo5 vs John Brown",

Along with qualifying for the regional championship, the team has qualified to at least be a part of the Last Chance Qualifier for NECC Nationals, joining Huntingdon Rocket League A in that achievement.

The Championship is next Wednesday, April 10th at 7PM on twitch.tv/hchawksesports.

The starting roster consists of all freshman including:
