Football Offensive Player of the Week
Jarrod Mosby, Averett - The senior wide receiver from Chesterfield, Virginia broke the program's single-game record for touchdown receptions with four in a 47-10 win over Maryville last week. Mosby caught eight passes for 223 yards and became the first Cougar in program history to accumulate over 200 receiving yards. All four of Mosby's touchdowns came during the first half when Averett built a 34-10 lead. Also Nominated: David Loughry II, Greensboro; Mitchell Yoder, Brevard; Mykel Santos, Maryville; Landon Cotney, Huntingdon; Keyshaun Pete, Methodist; Trevon Crank, N.C. Football Offensive Rookie of the Week
Trevon Crank, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman running back from Gastonia, North Carolina rushed for 107 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 26-21 win over LaGrange last week. Crank carried the ball 15 times for an average of 7.1 yards per attempt and scored on a 50-yard run in the fourth quarter which proved to be the game-winning score. Also Nominated: Devonte Murray, Brevard; Bailey Boaen, Averett.

Football Defensive Player of the Week
Tucker Spence, Huntingdon
 - The Uriah, Alabama sophomore linebacker accumulated seven total tackles, including four for a loss of 29 total yards, in a 21-14 win over Brevard last week. Spence had six solo tackles and one assisted take down, including three sacks for a loss of 28 total yards. Also Nominated: Dejuan Robinson, Greensboro; Jerome Bass, Brevard; Nicholas Mintz, Averett; Bobby Freeman, Methodist; Charles Sias, N.C. Wesleyan; Jason Siaosi, Southern Virginia; Klynell Johnson, LaGrange.

Football Defensive Rookie of the Week
Bobby Freeman, Methodist - The freshman linebacker from Wrens, Georgia accumulated seven total tackles, including one and a half for a loss of nine total yards, as well as a forced fumble and a fumble recovery as the Monarchs earned a 37-14 win over Southern Virginia last week. One the same play in the third quarter, Freeman registered his first career sack, fumble forced and fumble recovery. Also Nominated: Dejuan Robinson, Greensboro; Jamarcus Dunn, Maryville; Nick Haitz, Averett; Korey Hunter, N.C. Wesleyan; Jaden Jones, LaGrange.

Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Rafa Niederleytner, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior place kicker from Valencia, Spain hit the first two field goals of his career in a 26-21 win over LaGrange last week. His first field goal was from 34 yards while his second was from 33 yards out. Niederleytner also connected on both of his point-after-touchdown attempts. Also Nominated: Ernest Smith II, Brevard; Dylan Killingsworth, Huntingdon; Trevor Hargett, Methodist; Shy'Heem Clemons, Greensboro.

 

MEN'S SOCCER

Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Enrique Hernandez, LaGrange - The LaBelle, Florida junior forward scored every goal for the Panthers as he notched a hat trick of three tallies in a 3-0 win over Berea which was LaGrange's only contest last week. Hernandez scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 25th minute and followed with insurance scores in the 44th and 88th minutes. Also Nominated: Austin Vinyard, Maryville; Hudson Zeisman, Methodist; Mercer Stout, Covenant; Adam Spencer, Brevard; Darli Mihindou, Greensboro; Sam Stewart, Pfeiffer; Augustin Rodriguez, N.C. Men's Soccer Defender of the Week
Tobias Borzel, N.C. Wesleyan - The Litzendorf, Germany senior goalkeeper posted a 2-0 shutout of Mary Washington in the only contest he appeared in last week. Borzel stopped all seven shots he faced to collect his first shutout of the season. Also Nominated: Mykal Manfred, Maryville; Cole Hupp, Methodist; Andrew Cole, LaGrange; Igor da Silva, Brevard; Joshua Burton, Huntingdon; Jacob Smith, William Peace.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Brooklyn Muccillo, Maryville - The Peachtree City, Georgia freshman forward scored two goals in a 2-0 week for the Scots. In a 4-0 win over Warren Wilson, Muccillo notched his first collegiate goal in the 79th minute. In a 3-0 victory over Piedmont, Muccillo scored the final goal of the contest in the 33rd minute. Also Nominated: Andrew Cole, LaGrange.

 

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Makinna Winterton, Southern Virginia - The Charlottesville, Virginia junior midfielder scored three goals in a 2-0 week for the Knights. In a 4-3 victory over Randolph, Winterton gave Southern Virginia a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 52nd minute. In a 5-1 win over N.C. Wesleyan, Winterton scored insurance goals in the 51st and 69th minutes. Also Nominated: Kelsey Green, Maryville; Maddie Hernandez, Methodist; Rachel Wall, Covenant; Kaylee King, Piedmont; Celia de Diego, Averett; Ashley Royster, Brevard; Sydney Dailey, LaGrange; Erin Cembrale, Huntingdon; Ashley Kopczyk, Agnes Scott.

Women's Soccer Defender of the Week
Lindsay Fox, Greensboro - The Statesville, North Carolina freshman goalkeeper posted a 1-0, overtime, shutout of Pfeiffer in the only contest for the Pride last week. Fox stopped all eight shots faced in 95 minutes played to collect her second shutout of the season. Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Rachel Wall, Covenant - The Freeport, Maine freshman forward scored four goals and added an assist in a 1-0-1 week for the Scots. In a 3-3 draw with Birmingham Southern, Wall opened the scoring with a goal in the third minute. In a 5-0 victory over LaGrange, Wall registered her first career hat trick by scoring three goals while also adding an assist on the eventual game-winning goal. Also Nominated: Ellie Filimonczuk, Maryville; Ashley Linden, Salem; Victoria Sierra, Piedmont; Celia de Diego, Averett; Justine St. Louis, Brevard; Lindsay Fox, Greensboro; Briana Suarez, LaGrange; Paige Rhody, Huntingdon; Makya Lindgren, Southern Virginia.

Volleyball Player of the Week
Elle Warnick, Southern Virginia - The senior setter from Delta, Utah averaged 11.00 assists and 3.20 digs per set as the Knights posted a 3-0 record last week with wins over Greensboro, William Peace and Meredith. Warnick notched double-doubles against Greensboro (31 assists/11 digs) and Meredith (46 assists/12 digs) while her week-highs included 46 assists, 12 digs, four blocks and three kills (twice). Also Nominated: Meredith Bonee, Maryville; Summer Johnson, Covenant; Hannah Collier, William Peace; Alaina McDonald, Piedmont; Valeria Rosa Lopez, Salem; Morgan Barnes, Averett; Lauren Bissette, Meredith; Kaitlyn Pressley, Brevard; Mckenzie Norris, Greensboro; Morgan Ilsley, Huntingdon; Reagan Wyatt, Pfeiffer; Lauren Weaver, N.C. Lauren Phillips, Meredith - The senior defensive specialist from Greenville, North Carolina averaged 5.70 digs and 1.50 assists last week as the Avenging Angels posted a 2-1 record with wins over Methodist and Mary Baldwin, along with a loss to Southern Virginia. Phillips' week-highs included 21 digs (twice), eight assists, four service aces and one kill. Kinsley Stevens, Averett - The freshman setter from Danville, Virginia averaged 9.82 assists and 2.18 digs per set as the Cougars posted a 2-1 record last week gaining wins over Mary Baldwin and Methodist with a loss to Pfeiffer. Stevens notched a double-double against Pfeiffer (51 assists/15 digs) while her week-highs included 51 assists, 15 digs, three kills, three service aces and one block.
