Hawks Tame the Pride

Greensboro, NC.-The Huntingdon Football Team defeated Greensboro College, 42-3. The Hawks are now 5-2 and 5-0 in conference. 

Kahari McReynolds opened the scoring for the Hawks at 11:06 on a 2 yard rush. 

Quarterback Landon Cotney rushed for 13 yards to give the Hawks a 13-0 lead at 12:08 in the second quarter before Will Edwards kicked the extra point. 

Greensboro kicked a 30-yard field goal at 12:17 of the third quarter before Cotney found Zack Self for an 8-yard touchdown pass at 7:34. With 23 seconds left in the third quarter, Landon Cotney rushed for 5 yards to give the Hawks a 28-3 lead.

Quarterback Ryte Woodruff found Zack Self for a 13-yard touchdown pass at 2:48 in the fourth quarter. Brody Hamm intercepted Greensboro with 57 seconds left and rushed 23 yards for a touchdown, extending the lead to 42-3. 

Casey Peppers had 3 solo tackles and 2 tackle assists. Kahari McReynolds had 145 rushing yards on 18 attempts. 

"We didn't play our best today but we did enough to get the win. Greensboro played well and gave us some problems for sure," Head Coach Mike Turk said. "We have a lot to clean up and will go to work on that as soon as we get back home. Happy to get a win though."

The Hawks are back home on Saturday, October 30, when they take on N.C. Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 1 PM CST.
