Cody Estep, Maryville - The junior running back from Knoxville, Tennessee tied a single-game program record with four rushing touchdowns in a 52-16 win over LaGrange last week. Football Defensive Player of the Week*
Steffon Canady, Brevard - The Glendale, Arizona senior linebacker tied the program's single-game record for sacks with four in a 7-3 win over Southern Virginia last week. This is the second time in Canady's career that he has accumulated four sacks in a game. His four sacks this weekend resulted in a loss of 30 total yards. Additionally, Canady totaled eight tackles, forced a fumble and broke-up a pass. Brody Hamm, Huntingdon - The freshman linebacker from Alpine, Alabama grabbed two interceptions, returning one of them for a touchdown, in a 42-3 win over Greensboro last week. Both of Hamm's interceptions came in the second half as his touchdown capped the scoring for the Hawks. Trevor Thomas, Maryville - The senior punter from Rome, Georgia twice had punts downed at the one-yard line which his defense turned into safeties each time in a 52-16 victory over LaGrange last week. Thomas had three total punts out of his five attempts stop inside the 20-yardline. Overall, he averaged 32.4 yards per punt in the win. Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Ndubueze Henry, Maryville - The Lagos, Nigeria junior forward scored two goals with two assists as the Scots posted a 10-2 win over Huntingdon in the team's only contest last week. Henry scored the first goals of each half and assisted on the eventual-game winner in the 24th minute before adding his second helper eight minutes later. Jacob Smith, William Peace - The Mooresville, North Carolina senior goalkeeper posted a 2-0 record last week with one shutout for the Pacers. In the 180 minutes of play, Smith stopped seven of the eight shots he faced. In a 3-1 win over N.C. Wesleyan, Smith made four saves while, in a 3-0 shutout of Southern Virginia, Smith collected three saves. Craig McIlwraith, Maryville - The Peachtree City, Georgia sophomore midfielder, playing his first year of collegiate soccer, tallied his first career hat trick with three goals in a 10-2 win over Huntingdon, the only contest he appeared in last week for the Scots. McIlwraith scored his first goal in the 32nd minute before tallying back-to-back goals in the 55th and 61st minutes, respectively. Also Nominated: Orri Bjornsson, N.C. Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Bailey Sipos, Maryville - The Knoxville, Tennessee senior forward scored three goals and added an assist in a 2-0 week for the Scots. In a 6-0 victory over Berea, Sipos scored in the 23rd minute then added an assist five minutes later. In a 5-1 win over LaGrange, Sipos opened the scoring in the fifth minute before adding an insurance tally in the 52nd minute. Britney Levy, Pfeiffer - The Eustis, Florida senior goalkeeper posted a 1-0-1 record last week with one shutout for the Falcons. In the 200 minutes of play, Levy stopped 11 of the 12 shots she faced. In a 1-1 draw with William Peace, Levy made five saves while, in a 3-0 shutout of Mary Baldwin, Levy collected six saves. Makya Lindgren, Southern Virginia - The McKinleyville, California freshman midfielder scored four goals plus an assist in a 2-0 week for the Knights. In a 5-4 victory over Salem, Lindgren was involved in all five SVU scores as she notched her first career hat trick with four goals, including the game-winner with just over seven minutes remaining, and assisted on the game-tying score. In a 3-0 win over Meredith, Lindgren was held scoreless with one shot. Courtney Pinkston, Southern Virginia - The junior outside hitter from Gilbert, Arizona averaged 4.67 kills, with a .271 hitting percentage, and 2.42 digs per set as the Knights posted a 3-0 record last week with wins over Averett, N.C. Wesleyan and Methodist. Pinkston notched double-doubles against Averett (16 kills/10 digs) and N.C. Idymel Ayala Rivera, Berea - The freshman setter from Vega Baja, Puerto Rico averaged 6.27 assists and 2.55 digs per set as the Mountaineers posted a 2-1 record last week gaining wins over Wesleyan and Piedmont with a loss to Maryville. Ayala Rivera notched a double-double against Piedmont (30 assists/12 digs) while her week-highs included 30 assists, 12 digs, one kill (twice) and one service ace.
