Davis and Peppers Earn All Region Honors
Montgomery, Alabama – Tyrell Davis and Casey Peppers have been named to the 2nd and 3rd team All-Region by D3football.com for Region 3.
NCAA Division III realigned Division III football into six regions in 2021. Region 3 includes the American Southwest Conference, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, the Southern Athletic Association and the USA South Athletic Conference.
The teams, selected in balloting by Region 3 sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 177 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 79 players were chosen. Players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced the evening of Dec. 16, in D3football.com's pregame coverage for Stagg Bowl XLIX.
Tyrell Davis was honored to the second team all defense as a cornerback from Opelika, Alabama. The senior has accumulated 31 tackles, 10 assists, and 5 interceptions this season while averaging 3.7 tackles a game.
Casey Peppers is a senior linebacker from Panama City Beach, Florida. The Florida native appeared in 7 games for the Hawks and accumulated 35 tackles, 29 assists, and 5.5 sacks while averaging 9.1 tackles a game.
Head Coach Mike Turk on the honorees, "We are proud of both of these guys, and thankful that their efforts have been recognized. Both have been great players for us and have been a part of a lot of wins. Casey has been a tremendous leader for us and has made a ton of tackles for us over the years. Tyrell got tested by every team we played, and continually answered the bell. He only gave up one touchdown all year."
