Hawks Claim Wesley Cup with Defeat of BSC

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon Football (1-1 overall) took down the Panthers of Birmingham-Southern (1-1 overall) to keep the Wesley Cup for the second year in a row. The final score was 16-0 as the Hawks soared to the win.

The Hawks defense stood strong throughout the entirety of the game. The only attempt BSC would have at any points was in the first with a field goal that was missed wide left.

After a scoreless first quarter the Hawks kicked it into gear as Jack Blackman intercepted a Panther pass on their second drive to secure the ball for his team.

Carson Daniels flipped the ball to running back Kahari McReynolds to pass to Tyler England for a 22-yard touchdown!

In the third, a Panther fumble on a punt left the ball downed in end zone for a safety and two more points for Huntingdon (9-0).

An almost six-minute drive for the Hawks that began at the Huntingdon 42, ended with a Troy Garner touchdown with 13 minutes to go in the game (16-0).
