Spence Earns USA South Defensive Player Of The Week

MONTGOMERY, Ala.-  In the final regular season game for the Hawks, senior linebacker Tucker Spence has earned the Defensive Player of the Week honors in the USA South for his performance against NC Wesleyan.

 

The senior linebacker from Uriah, Alabama recorded four sacks to go along with nine tackles and one interception in a 21-0 victory over USA South foe N.C. Wesleyan last week. Spence's four sacks resulted in a total loss of 21 yards while his interception came in the fourth quarter and resulted in a Huntingdon touchdown a play later. 

 

Also Nominated: Dylan James, Brevard; Devon White, Maryville; TJ Hersey, Belhaven; Andrew Bradshaw, Methodist.

 

Tucker finished the season with 41 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and an interception in 8 games played for the Hawks.
