Hawks Defeat Berea in Comeback Win

Berea, KY.-Huntingdon Men's Basketball defeated Berea, 88-86. 

After falling behind 41-35 at halftime, the Hawks battled in a back-and-forth second half. Caleb Toney tied the game at 41 with a layup at 18:35 of the second half and Sam Page gave the Hawks a 43-41 lead at 17:57. 

Berea recovered the lead with 2 free throws at 15:45 but 2 free throws by Damien Madison gave the Hawks a 50-49 lead. Berea took the lead, 60-59 on a 3-point shot at 11:04 and seemed to pull away until Damien Madison tied the game at 84 on a free throw with 1:38 left in the second half. 

Max Gardner gave the Hawks an 86-84 lead with 2 made free throws. Berea tied the game again with 20 seconds left but the Hawks secured the win with 2 free throws made by Caleb Toney with no time remaining on the clock after getting fouled attempting to make a layup.

Damien Madison led the team with 23 points. Max Gardner had a team-leading 13 rebounds and 6 assists. 

Huntingdon outrebounded Berea 44-36 and had 43 bench points with 36 points in the paint. 

The Hawks are back in action on Wednesday, February 16th, when they take on LaGrange on the road. Tipoff is set for 6:00 PM CST.
