Hawks Fall to LaGrange In Round 1 Of CCS Tournament
LAGRANGE, GA.- In the first round of the CCS tournament, Huntingdon men's basketball (12-15 overall, 6-7 CCS) was defeated by the LaGrange Panthers(15-11 overall, 7-6 CCS) 85-72.

First half

Jaylen Washington got the Hawks on the board on their first possession with a shot from deep

After trading multiple baskets, the Hawks found themselves trailing 15-12 at the 13:37 mark

The Panthers opened up an 8-2 run to hold a 23-14 lead by the 9:20 mark

DaQuan Hawkins stopped the bleeding with a three pointer to cut the lead to 23-17

LaGrange responded with a 5-0 run to extend their lead to 28-17 at the 8:10 mark

Jaylen Washington found room around the basket to cut the lead to 33-25 with 3 and a half minutes until halftime

A 9-0 Panther run to close the half pushed their lead to 42-25

BJ Brown opened the second half with a triple to cut the lead to 42-28

DaQuan Hawkins made his second three pointer of the day to bring the deficit to 54-44 with 11 minutes to go

Still battling, Max Gardner followed a 4-0 LaGrange run with a three pointer to keep the Hawks within 10, 60-50 at the 8:38 mark

After trading baskets for the next 5 minutes, a pair of free throws for the Panthers put the Hawks behind 71-59 with two minutes remaining

Being forced to foul, the Hawks ran out of time to mount a comeback, taking a 85-72 loss
