Hawks Fall to Virginia Wesleyan

Montgomery, Ala-Huntingdon Men's Lacrosse was defeated by Virginia Wesleyan, 15-9.

Virginia Wesleyan scored the first goal of the game at 12:25 of the first quarter. Brayden Puckett answered back at 9:56 and Ian Bruggeman gave the Hawks a 2-1 lead at 8:29 of the first quarter. 

Virginia Wesleyan scored 3 straight goals before Caden Bacz scored the Hawks' 3rd goal at 2:02 of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Virginia Wesleyan added 2 goals at 10:25 and 6:51. Kole Andres made it 6-4 at 5:44 before Virginia Wesleyan adde 3 straight goals to close out the second quarter, taking a 9-4 lead into halftime. 

3 goals by Virginia Wesleyan in the third quarter made it 12-4. Kole Andres scored his second goal of the game at 6:50 with an assist by Caden Bacz. Ryan Campion made it 12-6 with a goal at 5:46 of the third quarter. 

In the fourth quarter, Virginia Wesleyan scored at 11:39 and 10:38. Paul Gordon scored at 6:25 of the fourth quarter to make it 14-7. Virginia Wesleyan added their 15th goal at 4:56. Kole Andres scored at 3:42 and Ian Burggeman scored at 3:09 to make it 15-9.

Tyler Daigle suffers the loss, making 6 saves on 15 shots. The Hawks were 23-31 on clear attempts and collected 36 ground balls. Ryan Campion had 6 shots and 5 ground balls while Kole Andres had 6 shots and 3 ground balls.

The Hawks are back in action on Tuesday, March 1st against Point. Game time is set for 7:00 PM CST.
