Hawks Dominate Point

Montgomery, Ala.-Huntingdon Men's Lacrosse defeated Point University, 24-8. The Hawks are now 2-3 to start the season.

Point opened the scoring at 9:26 of the first quarter. Brady Moulton put the Hawks on the board with an assist by Jacob Payne at 8:23. Ryan Campion scored 2 straight goals for the Hawks at 7:31 and 5:11 of the first quarter. Alexander Hero made it 4-1 at 3:27. Brayden Puckett scored with 44 seconds left in the first quarter to make it 5-1. Caden Bacz added the Hawks' 6th goal with an assist by Anthony Morales with 18 seconds left in the first quarter. 

Point added a second goal at 14:17 in the second quarter before Ryan Campion scored his 3rd goal of the game at 13:04. Point made it 7-3 at 11:38 of the second quarter. Hayden Strickland scored at 10:50 of the second quarter to make it 8-3. Point added 2 straight goals at 6:38 and 3:04 to come within 3 going into halftime. 

In the 3rd quarter, Caden Bacz made it 9-5 at 14:48. Paul Gordon made it 10-5 at 14:09 followed by Jacob Payne adding the 11th Hawks goal at 13:32. Ian Bruggeman scored at 11:16 and again at 9:35 with an assist by Ryan Campion. Kole Andres made it 14-5 with an assist by Brady Moulton. Ryan Campion scored his 4th goal of the game at 2:08 of the 3rd quarter.

The Hawks added 9 goals in the 4th quarter. Brayden Puckett added his second of the game with an assist from Moulton at 13:29. Moulton made it 17-5 at 12:20. Ian Burggeman scored at 9:50 and 9:21 to make it 19-6. Caden Bacz scored at 8:44 followed by Bruggeman's 5th goal at 6:27. Point added 2 straight goals at 5:55 and 5:24 to make it 21-8. Moulton scored his 3rd goal of the game at 4:56. Hayden Strickland made it 23-8 at 4:07 followed by Paul Gordon at 1:06 to end the game at 24-8.

Jesse Thomas made 5 saves on 10 shots, earning his second win of the season. The Hawks were 11-11 on clear attempts and totaled 49 ground balls. 

Ryan Campion had 4 goals, 4 assists, 5 shots, and 6 ground balls. Caden Bacz had 3 goals, 2 assists, 6 shots, and 2 ground balls. Ian Bruggeman had 5 goals on 13 shots and 3 ground balls. 

The Hawks are back in action at home on Sunday, March 6th when they take on Hendrix. Game time is set for 1:00 PM CST.
