Hawks Fall Short at William Peace

Raleigh, NC.-Huntingdon Men's Lacrosse was defeated by William Peace, 17-14.

Ryan Campion scored back-to-back goals at 13:31 and 12:55 of the first quarter to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead. Caden Bacz added a goal with an assist from Kole Andres at 10:01. William Peace made it 3-1 at 8:23 but Paul Gordon answered back at 7:49, making it 4-1. William Peace added 2 goals to close out the first quarter with the Hawks leading 4-3.

In the second quarter, William Peace scored 4 straight goals to take a 7-4 lead. Ian Bruggeman scored at 7:08 to make it 7-5. Kole Andres added a goal at 6:00 with an assist from Campion, making it 7-6. Bruggeman scored his second goal of the game but William Peace added 2 goals to take a 9-7 lead into halftime. 

Brayden Pucket's unassisted goal to start the third quarter made it 9-8 but William Peace scored 6 straight goals to take a 15-8 lead into the fourth quarter.

A goal by Wlliam Peace to start the fourth quarter made it 16-8 but the Hawks rallied for 4 straight goals. Paul Gordon scored at 10:52 and again at 10:42 to make it 16-10. Campion's second goal of the game came at 10:04 followed by Bruggeman's third goal of the game at 6:26 to make it 16-12. William Peace added a goal at 5:27 to take a 17-12 lead. Kole Andres scored at 3:07 with an assist from Brady Moulton and Paul Gordon's fourth goal of the game at 1:15 made it 17-14 but the Hawks were not able to complete a comeback.

Paul Gordon had 4 goals on 10 shots with 3 ground balls. Ryan Campion had 3 goals and 1 assist on 8 shots with 4 ground balls. Kole Andres had 2 goals and 1 assist on 2 shots with 2 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers. Ian Bruggeman had 3 goals on 9 shots with 2 ground balls. Tyler Daigle made 12 saves on 23 shots; Jesse 'Blake' Thomas made 2 saves on 8 shots.

The Hawks travel to Averett on Saturday, April 23rd. Game time is set for 12:00 PM CST.
