Strong Third Quarter Pushes Greensboro Past The Hawks
MONTGOMERY,Ala.- In their second USA South matchup of the season, Huntingdon men's lacrosse (3-7 overall) was taken down by the Pride of Greensboro(5-4 overall) at home 14-8. A strong third quarter from Greensboro propelled the Pride to the road victory over the Hawks.
How it happened
First quarter

Continuing his strong play from the Hawks triple overtime victory over William Peace, Kelcey Marston got the Hawks on the board first with a goal at the 12:00 minute mark to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead early

Landen Conrad followed Marston at the 9:33 mark with a goal of his own off an assist from Colton Keglovic to push Huntingdon's lead to 2-1

Greensboro responded with two unanswered goals to even the score at 2 with 5:33 remaining in the quarter

The Hawks battled back to take the lead 3-2 at the 3:49 mark with Kelcey Marston scoring his second goal of the afternoon off a pass from Brady Moulton

Greensboro put in two more goals in the final 3 minutes of the period to hold a 4-3 lead entering the second quarter

Picking up where they left off, Greensboro scored two more goals to extend their lead to 6-3 by the 9:16 mark

Still fighting, Kelcey Marston put in his third goal of the day to stop the bleeding at the 5:11 mark, bringing the score to 6-4

A goal from the Pride at the 2:05 mark closed the half with the Hawks trailing 7-4

To open the second half, Greensboro went on a 4-0 offensive explosion to extend their lead to 11-4 by the 5:39 mark

Gage Kettlewell scored his first goal of the day at the 4:39 mark to stop the run and put the Hawks behind 11-5

Another Greensboro goal in the final 15 seconds of the quarter put Huntingdon down 12-5 entering the fourth

Not done yet, Tristan Dial put in a goal at the 11:42 mark to cut the lead to 12-6
