Hawks Defeat Maryville To Advance To Second Round Of CCS Tournament
CHATTANOOGA,Tenn.- Huntingdon men's tennis(4-11 overall, 2-3 CCS) defeated the Maryville Scots 5-3 in the first round of the CCS tournament, allowing them to move on to the second round. See below for the full doubles and singles results.
Doubles
- Lane Young and Owen Wheelock were defeated by Jackson Meyer and James Smith 8-2
- Zach Cox and Sydney Frazier defeated Kaleb Burke and Jonathan Crane 8-3
- Cameron Reed and Lawson Pearson defeated Seth Green and Gabriel Villalonga 8-4
Singles
- Lane Young was defeated by James Smith 6-1 and 6-2
- Jonathan Crane defeated Owen Wheelock 6-1 in each set
- Zach Cox defeated Jackson Meyer 6-2 and 6-4
- Gabriel Villalonga and Sydney Frazier's match was not finished
- Cameron Reed defeated Seth Green 6-2 and 7-6 with a tiebreaker score of 7-3
- Lawson Pearson defeated Kaleb Burke 6-2 and 6-0
This win advances the Hawks into round two, where they are set to take on the number one seeded Piedmont. Matches are set to begin at 9:00 AM CT.
