Mt. Berry, Ga.-Huntingdon Softball lost both games of the doubleheader against Berry, 9-1 and 4-1.
Game 1:
The Hawks dropped game one 9-1, in 6 innings.
In the third inning, Lydia Lewis reached on an error to bring in the only run for the Hawks. Huntingdon and Berry were tied into the fourth inning until a 3-run homerun broke open the game for Berry.
The Hawks were held to 4 hits. Holly Sharp suffered the loss, pitching 2.1 innings and allowing 8 runs on 7 hits with 2 strikeouts.
Game 2:
The Hawks fell in game two, 4-1.
Huntingdon's only run came in the 2nd inning with a homerun by Hailey League. Berry took the lead with 2 runs in the fourth inning and extended their lead with RBI singles in the 5th and 6th innings.
Katelyn Holcombe suffered her first loss of the season, pitching 6.0 innings and allowing 4 runs on 7 hits with 2 strikeouts.
The Hawks are back in action at home on Wednesday, March 23rd, when they take on Hendrix in a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM CST.
