Misenhiemer, NC.-Huntingdon Softball ended their season with losses to Wesleyan, 4-3, and Pfeiffer, 7-1, in Round 2 of the USA South Conference Tournament.
Vs. Wesleyan:
The Hawks lost to Wesleyan, 4-3.
Annie Nolan scored on a passed ball in the second inning to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead. Wesleyan added 2 runs in the bottom of the second with an RBI double and an error, taking a 2-1 lead.
In the fourth inning, Wesleyan added another run with an RBI single. The Hawks added a run in the 5th inning when Anna Vaughn flew out to center field and Brooke Stefankiewicz scored on a throwing error, making it 3-2. Wesleyan took a 4-2 lead in the 5th inning with an RBI double. Lydia Lewis scored on an error in the 6th inning to make it 4-3 but the Hawks were not able to make a comeback.
Katelyn Holcombe suffered the loss, pitching 2.0 innings and allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 1 strikeout. Natalie Ritchey was 4-4. Brooke Stefankiewicz was 2-3 with 1 run. Miranda Treadway was 1-1 with 3 walks. Lydia Lewis was 1-2 with 1 run and 2 walks.
Vs. Pfeiffer:
The Hawks lost to Pfeiffer, 7-1.
Pfeiffer added 3 runs in the second inning with an RBI single and RBI double. An RBI triple in the fourth inning gave Pfieffer a 4-0 lead. Pfeiffer added 3 runs in the fifth to take a 7-0 lead. The Hawks only run came in the 6th inning with an RBI single by Anna Vaughn.
Katelyn Holcombe suffered the loss, pitching 3.0 innings and allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 2 strikeouts. Natalie Ritchey was 2-3 with 1 run. Anna Vaughn was 1-3 with 1 RBI.
The Hawks end the season 27-12 overall and 13-3 in conference.
