Hawks Defeat Agnes Scott

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Huntingdon (27-7 overall, 11-3 CCS) defeated Agnes Scott (10-22 overall, 4-8 CCS) in their doubleheader to conclude CCS play at home.

Game 1: Huntingdon 10 – Agnes Scott 0

The senior pitcher, Crimson Wells held the Scotties to no runs across five innings as the Hawks run ruled Agnes Scott.

Huntingdon crossed two runners in the first inning after singles from Natalie Ritchey and Brooke Stefankiewicz. Ritchey scored off an error from the Scotties and Jordan Holman singled to the pitcher to bring in Stefankiewicz (2-0).

A big seven run inning in the second established the tone for the game. The Hawks four hits from Ritchey (triple), Bailey Murphy (single), Dani Holt (double), and Elli Lorance (single) scored all seven runs for the Hawks.

The final run came form a sacrifice fly by Murphy in the bottom of the third inning as the Hawks took the 10-0 lead and Wells held off the Scotties.

Game 2: Huntingdon 6 – Agnes Scott 1

With Holly Sharp in the circle for the Hawks, she brought her team to the plate early after a quick three outs.

At the plate, the Hawks got to work after singles from Bailey Murphy, Jordan Holman, and Maddie Grace Hubbard to load the bases. Murphy soon crossed the plate after a failed pick off attempt from the Scotties to give Huntingdon the lead (1-0).

Aubree Flanagan came in for relief of Sharp in the third inning to close it out. Huntingdon would cross the plate again for their second run after a single from Hubbard and Miranda Treadway to bring in Hubbard late in the fourth inning (2-0).

A four run sixth inning boosted the Hawks past Agnes Scott. It began with a bunt from Hubbard and an RBI from Riley Rudick to jumpstart the scoring. Treadway found the ball again after another single to centerfield and Natalie Ritchey hit a two run double to increase the lead to 5-0. Huntingdon's final run came from a Scotties error to close out the 6th inning as Sharp returned to the circle to close out the game.

The Scotties only run across two game was scored off an error from the Hawks late in the seventh inning before the Hawks got the final out to fly past Agnes Scott.
