Maryville, Tenn.-The Huntingdon Women's Basketball Team lost to Maryville, 63-55.
The Hawks came out strong, taking a 24-17 lead in the first quarter. Maryville added 13 points in the second quarter against the Hawks' 9, making it 33-30 at half time. Huntingdon was outscored 17-16 in the third quarter and 16-6 in the fourth quarter to see their first half lead erased.
Ry Whetstone had 13 points and led the team with 7 rebounds. She also had 2 assists and 2 steals. AB Davis led the team with 14 points. Alina Shoemake had a team-leading 6 steals and 4 assists.
The Hawks were outrebounded 36-34 but had 10 steals against Maryville's 9.
The Hawks are back in action on Saturday, December 4th, in their home opener against Piedmont. Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM CST.
