Hawks Defeat Wesleyan

Macon, Georgia – The Hawks (4-13 overall, 4-6 in the CCS) defeated Wesleyan (GA) (0-14 overall, 0-10 in the CCS) 81-45 in their Collegiate Conference of the South game.

With every Hawk on the scoreboard, Huntingdon was able to soar past the Wolves from the tip. Huntingdon began the game with full court pressure to convert Wesleyan turnovers to points and gain a quick lead. Three Hawks scored in double figures and as a team Huntingdon shot 40% from beyond the arc and 45.7% from the field for the game. Senior, AB Davis shot 2-3 from three and sophomore Payton Corbett added the other two threes for the Hawks as she shot 50% on 2-4.

The Hawks bench produced 36 points for the night as freshman Charity Shaw led the group shooting perfect from the field on 4-4 with 9 points. Sydney Parfait also added and impressive stat line of seven points and seven rebounds for the Hawks.

Huntingdon shot the ball ten more times than the Wolves and a great defensive effort by the Hawks limited Wesleyan to only three made threes at 21% and 30% from the field. The Hawks made their way to the free-throw line nine more times than the Wolves where they made seven more foul shots.

The Hawks are back in action on Saturday January 28th in Roland Arena at 2:00 PM CST as they take on the Owls of Mississippi University for Women.
