Briana McGruder Named CCS Player Of The Week

MONTGOMERY,Ala.- For the first time this season and for the first time in her career, Briana McGruder has been named the CCS Player of the Week for her performances against Wesleyan, Piedmont, and Covenant.

On the week, McGruder helped the Hawks to a 3-0 week averaging 12.7 points, 10 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and two blocked shots.  In a close game against Piedmont, McGruder rebounded a missed shot for the Hawks, getting fouled on her putback attempt. She made a free throw with 3 seconds left to give the Hawks a 57-56 win. She finished the game with a double-double (14 points, 15 rebounds). She also contributed eight points and nine rebounds in a matchup against Wesleyan on February 6th. She finished the week with a win over Covenant where she collected 16 points shooting 7-for-11 from the field and added six rebounds.
