Hawks Shut Down Brenau

Montgomery, Ala.-Huntingdon Women's Lacrosse defeated Brenau, 15-4. The Hawks are 1-1 to start the season. 

The Hawks opened the scoring at 13:36 of the first quarter with Michaela Haas scoring, assisted by Jordan Alvis. Zoe Dezaldivar scored at 12:14 and at 5:11, giving the Hawks a 3-0 lead. Brenau answered back at 4:03 of the first quarter before Shelby Blair added a 4th Hawks goal at 3:32. 

In the second quarter, Dylanie Chappel scored 2 goals at 14:25 and 3:32. Blair scored her second goal of the game at 1:22 of the second quarter, giving the Hawks a 7-1 lead at halftime. 

Reagan Bullock scored 2 goals in the third quarter, at 13:15 and 3:13. Dylanie Chappel added 2 more goals at 12:25 and 2:54. Celina Owens-Campbell scored at 7:22. Brenau added a goal at 9:32 of the third quarter but the Hawks took a 12-2 lead into the fourth quarter.

Brenau added 2 goals in the fourth quarter at 11:36 and with :49 left but Celina Owens-Campbell scored her second goal of the game at 14:19 and Reagan Bullock added her third goal of the game at 9:34. Peyton Beachler added the 15th Hawks goal at 1:57 of the fourth quarter.

Chappel ended the game with 4 goals, while Bullock had 3 goals, 9 shots, and 16 ground balls. 

Morgan Coppini made 2 saves on 3 shots in the first half and Elizabeth Todd made 5 saves on 8 shots.

The Hawks are back in action at home against Berry on February 23rd. Game time is set for 5:00 PM CST.
