Huntingdon earns third win of the season

COLUMBIA, S.C.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team won seven of the final eight weight classes and knocked off Allen University 30-12 on Saturday.

The win was the fourth-year Hawks' third straight over the NAIA Yellow Jackets.

Huntingdon fell behind 9-0 after the first two weight classes but the Hawks controlled the remainder of the match. Quintez Pearson's 7-5 decision in the 149-pound weight class tied the match and Kaleb Fontenot's 11-5 decision at 157 gave the Hawks the lead for good.

Deon Maxwell won by decision (10-4) at 165, Robbie McKenna won by major decision (10-1) at 174 and Jesse Rowlen won by technical fall (23-8) at 285. Nelson Elder (141-pounds) and Cody Dixon (184 pounds) each won by forfeit.
