Hawks Compete in Newberry Open

Newberry, Sc.-Huntingdon Wrestling competed in the Newberry Open.

 

Jayson Spencer finished 2nd in the 174 weight class.  Nick Kendrick finished 4th in the 174 weight class.Nicholas Brashear finished 3rd in the 184 weight class.

"I'm proud of the way these guys competed in this end of the year tournament," Head Coach Matt Oliver said. "We only took a limited number of our guys to this event. A few of these guys were adjusting to new weight classes or just needed to fine tune some things before we go into our Regionals tournament in Iowa. But happy with the way we wrestled and finished the tournament. Jayson Spencer made his first tournament finals appearance in his career."

 

The Hawks travel to the Lower Midwest Regional Tournament in Dubuque, Iowa, on February 25th and 26th.
